Apollo bolsters political risk expertise with senior appointment
Apollo Syndicate Management (“Apollo”) today announced the appointment of William Steeds as senior political risk underwriter for Syndicate 1969, effective immediately. He reports to Chris King, head of crisis management at Apollo.
Steeds joins Apollo with more than 20 years’ experience in the industry, having begun his career on the Lloyd’s Graduate Scheme in 1997. Prior to joining Apollo, he was a senior political risk underwriter at XL Catlin, where he built a large and market-leading book of business. Steeds holds a BA in War Studies from King’s College London and is a member of Chatham House.
Chris King said: “At Apollo, we have built our business by attracting market leaders, talented specialists that can drive success by expanding our underwriting into profitable niches. Will is one such figure. His experience in political risk and contract frustration is recognised by brokers and insureds alike. I would therefore like to welcome him to the business.”
