Canopius hires Rachel Sabbarton to energy team
Canopius today announces the appointment of Rachel Sabbarton as senior underwriter within the energy team.
Rachel joins from Beazley Group, where she was deputy head of energy and will report to Geoff Tin before succeeding him in the role of head of energy in the summer of 2019.

Biography:
Rachel Sabbarton began her insurance career at Chaucer on the energy team. She concentrated in particular on energy liability business, becoming deputy class underwriter in 2010. Rachel was also responsible for building relationships with the Scandinavian market and then opening an office in Oslo. In 2011, she joined Beazley as upstream energy property underwriter, becoming deputy head of energy in 2016. Rachel holds a law degree from the University of Cambridge, and has held roles on the Joint Rig Committee Insurance Act working group and the Lloyd’s U35 Marine Committee.
