IRLA celebrates fundraising success with more than £11,000 raised for MIND
IRLA Congress delegates participate in iDrop from the BA i360
The Insurance and Reinsurance Legacy Association (“IRLA”) today announced in excess of £11,000 was raised as part of a fundraiser for mental health charity MIND at the IRLA Congress in Brighton. The annual gathering of IRLA members is taking place at the Brighton Grand Hotel on the 10 -12 of June, with over 300 delegates in attendance.
IRLA Congress delegates participated in the iDrop abseil from the BA i360 tower and asked for sponsorship from members to perform the feat. The fundraiser was held as part of the celebrations of the 20th anniversary of IRLA’s existence and the 20th time the Congress has been held, including for the sixth time in Brighton.
Paul Corver, the IRLA Chairman of 11 years, is handing over the reins to Stephen Roberts and the combination of his stepping down and the 20th anniversary this year-long fundraiser was suggested and has been run by the organisation’s Secretariat.
Paul Corver said: “We are very pleased to have been able to support the efforts of MIND and recognise the vital work it does promoting and improving mental health services across the country. MIND was my choice for our fundraiser and the fact we have exceeded our fundraising target has been a source of great pride. With over 300 delegates at Congress this year we hope to exceed our target even more.
We were glad to come back to Brighton, which has been a fantastic venue for the IRLA Congress and we look forward to many happy returns here.”
