IRLA recognises Legacy Awards winners
The Insurance and Reinsurance Legacy Association (“IRLA”) today announced the winners of the IRLA Services to Legacy Award and the Young Professional Award. These industry awards were presented at the Annual Congress in The Grand Hotel, Brighton.
Geraldine Quirke of Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner was presented with the IRLA Services to Legacy Award 2019 by IRLA Chairman Elect, Stephen Roberts. Ms Quirke was the thirteenth recipient of the Award and the first female winner,
Mr Roberts said, “For 2019, Gerry was a unanimous recommendation of the awarding panel. The warmth of the Congress attendees towards Gerry was a heartfelt confirmation from the legacy market, including clients, friends and competitors in the demanding discipline of legacy transfers, solvent schemes and cross border mergers & acquisitions in which Gerry so skilfully excels as a true expert in and servant of the legacy market. “
Deputy Chairman of IRLA, Ms Jenny Fair, announced Jennifer Connolly of Weightmans LLP, Liverpool to be the IRLA Young Professional of 2019. Ms Connolly is the fifth winner and third female on the honours list.
In choosing Jennifer the judges said “This nomination recognises that Jennifer has produced an Outstanding Client Service in an exemplary manner. On the back of their hard work and tenacity this individual has obtained good results for clients, and her firm, by securing a number of discontinuances of claims and early low economic settlements. Jennifer is an advocate of IRLA and has demonstrated both commitment and leadership skills penetrating into the wider legacy community”
